Happy Friday everyone!!!

So this week has been totally CRAZY what with all of the CHA stuff going on!
I have seen SO MANY amazingly adorable/beautiful lines in
the past week its just been mind blowing!

Not only that but I spent a great deal... and I mean an alarmingly large
amount of time at the Two Peas web site participating in all of the awesome online socials and
contests. Watching Jamie's fantastic videos, drooling over new products that
I "must have" while trying to convince the hubby all the while
that its perfectly okay to drop a serious amount of cash on paper, stickers, stamps etc...
We will see how that goes :P

So far I have entered in two of the CHA challenges. You have until the end of this week so get a'crackin people!!!
My first entry was for the Try something new challenge.

I have a friend from college who is suffering from Lyme disease. Lately things have gotten really painful and shes been having a hard time coping and I just wanted to send her a beautiful green themed handmade card to show her that I'm thinking of her.

I have never (believe it or not!!!) Used a combination of pins and felt before and I just love the way that
this particular card turned out! The gorgeous pins are new from Maya Road and
I have only awesome things to say about them.

My second entry was for the Ten things Challenge

I loved using the pins in the last challenge so much that I grabbed a few different styles and used them again!
For our wedding vows my husband and I had incorporated a few of the things that we loved most about each other. After seeing this "ten things" CHA challenge I figured what a perfect layout for these! There are five of the things I love about him and 5 of the things he loves about me for a total of ten :) This layout was tons of fun for me and I am just in love with it!!!

I am thinking that this may have to go in a frame for the wall of my scrap room!

Lastly but absolutely not leastly!!!
(drum roll please)
I spend the better part of yesterday afternoon at my husbands stripe ceremony.
He is now officially SSgt. Laurent for the US Air Force.
The best part?! I got to go up with his commander and tack his new stripes on.
By tack I mean we each hold his arm and "punch" them on. lol
I am so proud of you baby!

And of course a few pictures for good measure :)
Receiving his certificate

Blurry I know... I am NOT pleased

Staff Sgt. Laurent and the proud wifey :)

Okay I am done bragging (for now!)
I will be posting some of my favorite new lines from the Summer CHA 2010 shortly so keep your eyes peeled!

First edition of Tip Me Tuesday

Storing your paper scraps

To store my various paper scraps ( and trust me I have created piles over the years )
I use a towered set of drawers that can be purchased at Wal-Mart or any store like it.
The two large bottom drawers are for warm colored scraps and cold colored scraps.
( Warm colors are based on yellows, oranges, browns, yellowish greens, orange reds, and the like. Cool colors are based on blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magenta's, and blue-based reds. )
Above those drawers is reserved for my "themed" scrap bags.
I take any brand of large zip bags and write a category on each one with a sharpie.
Military, Christmas, Halloween etc, baby, girl, boy, vintage, birthday, outdoors, school, sports and so on. The bags are perfect because they are self contained, portable and best of all see through!!!
All of my scraps from the large to the itty bitty fit.
For those teenie tiny scraps, I just place them in a smaller baggie and into the big bag it goes!
I can personally say that this has not only made the organization and functionality of my paper scraps a trillion times better but it has cut the time I spend
searching for that perfect little piece of paper that I could have sworn I used some of 3 months ago virtually in half. Always a plus in my book!

First edition of Manic Mondays !

Is it just me or does it usually seem that just way too much happens during
the weekend that come Monday I am usually a frenzied whirlwind
of scrappy ideas, to-do lists, chores, more scrappy ideas.....the list goes on!

I suppose what better way to dump all of that craziness then blog it right here for all to read!
So ladies (and gentlemen)
welcome to the first ever edition of Manic Mondays!

There were about a hundred things that I wanted to get done this weekend but just couldn't seem to get to
due in part to the fact that I am still in the last stages of recovery
from two weeks worth of oral surgery. (OUCH!)

Playing around on my computer for the last couple of weeks I have come across about a trillion
adorable ideas for new layouts, cards and projects...even a few recipes!

SO, I have been playing around on the Two Peas website and loved their cards this month.
Along with a card previously posted I also made another.

I just love the design so much and it is super easy to do!
I made this card using some of the supplies that I won from a drawing at the scrapgrlz blog
a couple of weeks ago. Really cute papers and chip board made this card adorable!
Thanks Scrapgrlz for the goodies!

I was also rather successful in cleaning and reorganizing my little studio this weekend with what
little energy I had.  Having a clean scrap room just makes me want to dive in to all my treasures and make a mess of the place again so I can make all these cute things!!!

Quite a few pictures there I know but I had to get every angle to make it look big so I feel good. lol
I have been living in a small two bedroom condo with my husband and out two "child-cats"
for almost two years. Room is scarce but I have made the most of what
Ive got to create what my husband lovingly calls my "estrogen cave"!
We will be moving in Jan to a MUCH bigger house
and I will have my dream scrap room!
